Screenshot of new Bagman- and Ctfmap

Image Here's an early screenshot of a new Bagman- and Ctf-map called Oriental Palace. This map is heavily based on zihaben's Q3-map Gajapoor which is available here.  The inside of each teambase is inspired by a very frequently played Kingpin-map called team_stash which was made by Whoop_Ass.

Oriental Palace has two cashspawn's, one under each dome.  A fountain is placed beside each dome which acts as an entry to a watertunnel that leads to either Nikki's or dragon's teambase (the second fountain is not visible in the screenie).

KingpinQ3 moving to ioQuake3 engine

Image Up to now the KingpinQ3 engine was based on the sourcecode of the Quake v1.32b engine. For a couple of reasons - i.e. a nasty sky visualisation bug - i decided to move to the ioquake3 engine. I have ported all KingpinQ3 code to the new engine this weekend. ioquake3 is an enhancement of the Q3 v1.32b source with alot of bugfixes and additional features. They started further development in 2006. Some additional features are:

  • PNG support
  • AVI video capture of demos
  • Ogg Vorbis codec support
  • IPv6 support
  • Voice over IP
  • much improved console
  • tons of bugfixes

Map preview "Sick City"

Image Yes, we are still alive! Real life kept us very busy the last few month, but we are still here!
Here's a preview of a new map called "Sick City". It's based on the map "Team_DKC" which was recently released for Kingpin by Beav. He made this map from scratch and allowed us to use it for KingpinQ3, thx for that! "Sick City" is not only a map conversion, I extended the map significantly. I also made alot of modifications to improve the gameplay and the way it looks. "Sick City" has a moving sky and alot of nice mapobjects (i.e. cars, trees). It's suitable for Deathmatch and Hitmen as well as for Bagman and Capture the Flag.

The last two screenshots are darker because the sky is different. I'm not sure which one i'll use in the final version......we will see ;-)
